It’s 65 degrees in Las Vegas today. No bomb cyclones here! Winter is one of the best reasons to live in Vegas. (Summer, of course, is another story…. Heat cyclones?)
But there is something poetic about snowfall. So if you miss being part of the storm that’s battering the Eastern seaboard, head out to the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. There’s a “light snowfall” every 30 minutes from 7 pm to midnight every Tuesday through next Wednesday, when you’ll have to head to Boston if you want more flakes.
The winter wonderland surrounding the Ice Rink at the Boulevard pool is FREE. All day skating costs $10 for locals. The rink opens daily at noon.
Another winter option, but one that doesn’t require a coat or gloves, is to see Wes Winders today at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa. He won the Vegas Liberace Play-A-Like competition in 2003. He alsoo does Barry Manilow and Andrew Lloyd Webber, so there’s got to be a song for you there somewhere.
Doors open in the showroom at 5:30 with the show at 6. Admission is FREE! Winters performs both tonight and tomorrow night.
Have a great week-end, Las Vegas.
