Las Vegas: Can lightning strike us twice?
Our Las Vegas Golden Knights are the talk of the NHL. The most successful expansion team EVER. And the games are sold out every time. Fans show up early and stay to the bitter end. Who knew our overheated desert denizens would become crazed for ice hockey?
Las Vegas’s second pro team is the Las Vegas Lights Football Club, another expansion team, this time for the United Soccer League. Their first season is this year. They will be playing at Cashman Field.
Want to meet the whole team? Then head to the Zappos campus in downtown Las Vegas Wednesday night from 5:30-7:30. The soccer stars will sign autograph and pose for photos. The team will will unveil its jersey, which has been a big secret. And this event is FREE!
And the Raiders make three!!!!!
If music is more your thing, head to the Downtown Container Park tomorrow night to enjoy the soulful tunes of Las Vegas local Jessica Manolo. She’s played the SLS Sayers Club and the Brooklyn Bowl, where the tickets were pricey. Tomorrow night’s concert is FREE. From 7:30-10:30.
What’s not FREE is parking downtown. The best value is at the Fremont Street garage, which is owned by the city. (The government being not as greedy as the casinos. Just saying.)
