4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

First, this is a holy week-end. Easter is Sunday and Passover starts tonight. Rejoice!

Both Easter and Passover have huge food components. (I make THE best mazo balls.  1890’s recipe from my Eastern European grandmother. But I digress.) How about sprinkling some Latin spice on this week-end’s menu?

Head out to Sunset Park for the inaugural Tacos & Tamales festival. Cooked up by the Clark County Parks & Recreation Department (our tax dollars deliciously at work), the festival is FREE.  Parking is FREE too. But alas, you will have to pay for the food, beer and tequila you ingest.

There will be taco and tamale offerings from the traditional to the “totally insane,” according to the press release. (Remember not to eat the wrapper!) Sample beers and micro-brews from all over the world. (Served ice cold, natch.)

Food will be from dozens of local restaurants and food trucks. In a sign of the times, the festival also features a Vegan Village, featuring some of the valley’s most popular vendors offering their spin on traditional Mexican cuisine.

There will also be live music and games for the kinder. Plus Lucha Libra wrestling exhibitions.

Tomorrow from noon to 7.

Have a GOOD FRIDAY and a happy, holy weekend, Las Vegas.
