In case you lost track of time, tomorrow is May 5 aka Cinco de Mayo.

In case you don’t know, the reason for this celebration is to remember the Mexican Army’s difficult victory over the French in 1862. But coming from Texas, to me Cinco de Mayo has become a celebration of Mexican-American culture. And is that delicious!
Who doesn’t love cinco de mayo?Here are two FREE events to enjoy the day:
- 1. El Tiempo Cinco de Mayo at The Cannery Hotel and Casino. In addition to the requisite food trucks, there will be Luca Libra Wrestling. If you want to spend $20, you can attend the Tribute to Selena at the Cannery Club. From 5-9 pm. And yes, the parking is FREE.
2. The Gold Spike‘s Down To Fiesta. The big deal here is the Tequila Limbo contest. There will also be three DJs as well as live music in the backyard. And this is a 24-hour celebration. It starts tomorrow at 3 pm and ends Sunday at 4.
