We locals know this, that there is culture are well as casinos here in Las Vegas. That’s right. Right here in River City, as they say in the Music Man.
Tonight the music woman, conductor Alexandra Arrieche, leads the Henderson Symphony Orchestra, in a FREE concert tonight at the Henderson Pavilion. The delicious program is entitled “Flamenco Flavors.”

In addition to the promised “bold instrumental rhythms that make your heart race,” the performance includes local Flamenco dancers.
And how can you beat the concert hall? The Henderson Pavilion, which seats 2,500, has comfy seats and unobstructed views. Even better, bring a blanket and stare up at the stairs on the grass at the top of the Pavilion, which is dug deep into the earth. Let the music wash over you.
For the record, the Henderson Pavilion is the largest outdoor amphitheater in Nevada. The weather is now gorgeous in Las Vegas so what a great night for an al fresco concert!

Then you are in luck tomorrow night. Chris Phillips, the leader of Zowie Bowie band, performs downtown at the Fremont Street Experience. The band, pronounced Zoh-ee Bow-ee, specializes in tunes from the 80s and 90s. I have seen Phillips sing standards but you won’t hear those tomorrow night.
Phillips, a crazy crooner, always has beautiful woman by his side. So there is something for everyone.
