FINALLY. The weather in Las Vegas is beau-tee-ful again. So it’s time to go on a Java Jaunt. Actually this has nothing to do with coffee. Join the Red Rock Audubon Society to learn about the birds who live and nest in our own Las Vegas wash. A birding expert and wetlands nature guide will point out all the kewl things.

All this knowledge is FREE. Starts at 7:30 am at the Clark County Wetlands Park. Over at 9. (Yep, pretty early for Las Vegas!)

I am always amazed when I visit the wetlands. Las Vegas is a desert! Ditto forCornerstone Park in Henderson. Thanks to the lake there, ducks waddle through my neighborhood all spring.  I took this picture a block from my house April 29. Who would have thunk it? The many facets of Las Vegas!

Note: The bird walk Sunday is about two miles on easy-to-walk trails. Hey, walking is way more fun than puffing away on a treadmill!

Always bring water and wear a hat (like the cool one the guy has one in the photo.)

If people watching is more your thing, there’s no better place than the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas.  Market in the Alley also happens on Sunday. Local musicians, artists and chefs will be hangin’ at Fergusons Downtown. The actual alley is between 10th and 11th Streets on Fremont Street.

I did tell you this is FREE, right?

From 10 am to 2 pm. You get home in time to still watch football… although the craziness of Fremont won’t happen until sundown.
