Which brings us to the top FREE (my favorite 4-letter word) offering for this week. Head down to the Fremont Street Experience to hear the Lt. Dan Band FREE on the First Street Stage. (It’s near the Golden Nugget.)

Concert runs from 7-11 tomorrow Saturday.
The cover band is named the Lt. Dan Band because its bass player is actor Gary Sinese. He, of course, played Lt. Dan Taylor in Forrest Gump. He was also great as Mac (also) Taylor in CSI: New York, but I digress.
Sinise founded the Gary Sinise Foundation, which “serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders and their families.” The Foundation has adapted 70 smart homes for severely wounded veterans and served 162,842 meals to military personnel, for example. The Marines named Sinise an honorary Marine.

The Lt. Dan Band, which Sinise founded in 2003, frequently performs at military bases both in the U.S. and overseas. It has performed 408 concerts worldwide.
I’ve seen the Lt. Dan Band twice: once at a paid concert at the Cannery-where I actually danced on stage with Sinise- and once at a free show on Fremont Street. Consider me a groupie because they are a talented cover band. I’ve lived in Las Vegas two decades and have heard some of the best musicians ever. The Lt. Dan Band is every bit as good.
I did say the concert is FREE, right?
