Thank goodness the holidays are over. I am recovering. Now is time to chill!
And, this is the time of year you really need FREE entertainment, because those Christmas bills will be arriving in the mail…soon!
That’s why I’m heading over to the cozy, intimate, old Las Vegas-y lounge at the South Point Hotel and Casino. Tonight piano virtuoso Wes Winters performs FREE from 5 to 9 at the Grandview Lounge.

Winters is famous of his one-man lounge show. He sits at the piano, his hands virtually kissing the keys, and croons. He knows his way around a guitar, too.
He plays all genres of music from standards to show tunes, country to Rachmaninoff. (Rarely Usher.)
It’s worth the price of admission-I did say FREE right?-to catch a glimpse of his sartorial splendor. Always a tux with starched white shirt and a sparkly jacket. Maybe I’m showin’ my age, but I think men look ah-mah-zing in tuxedos.
Winters decided to play piano when he was 5 after watching another famous Las Vegas pianist, Liberace, perform on television. (A live show from Las Vegas, no less.) He won the Liberace Play-A-Like Competition (Yes, Virginia, there is such a thing) in 2003. Just so you know.

Winters is there tomorrow night too, same Bat time and same Bat station.
The great thing about the Grandview Lounge is it has a large, wooden dance floor. And Winters encourages the audience to get up and just dance, to quote Lady Gaga.
If you’re busy this week-end, he pays at Roxy’s Lounge at Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall every Wednesday from 4:30 to 8.
