The real cowboys are gone–just 288 days until the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) return to Las Vegas–but that doesn’t mean we can forget how much fun cowboy culture is.
One of my favorite countrified places to hang out is Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill at Harrah’s Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip.We were the third one to open in the country star’s chain of restaurants.
It has authentic, though highly caloric, country classics. Try the fried bologna sandwich or the southern fried Twinkies. (I didn’t dare.) But their fried catfish is better than mine, and I pulled mine out of Lake Texoma myself.

Or belly up to the bar. It’s that think shaped liked a guitar.
The best part about the establishment is the live country music seven nights a week. FREE! The country and western dancin’ starts at 9 pm every night. Supposedly Toby selects the bands hisself. All I can say is they rival most non-super star country bands based in Nashville. For example, the Tony Marques Band often performs there.

The dance floor is kind of cozy. (Meaning it can get crowded…quickly.) But it’s authentic hardwood. Perfect for boot scootin’. Folks who show up to dance know how to! A FREE show for the dinner crowd.

The whisper is Toby shows up at the I Love This Bar and Grill at least twice a year. So maybe you’ll win the lottery and hear him croon a song or two, including the one that gave this establishment its name. FREE!
