4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

eXp Realty

Want to do something unusual for FREE today? How about something very Chinese in Las Vegas?

The Asians always have a religious ceremony before they launch a new enterprise (The Hawaiians actually do this, too.) The goal is to attract luck, good fortune and happiness to the venture.

Today is the opening day of WuHu Noodle at the Silverton Hotel and Casino. The Lohan Lion Dancers are performing at the pre-opening ceremony. Traditionally, lion dancers are an integral part of Chinese New Year celebrations. But they frequently dance at weddings and restaurant openings.

These dancers train at the Lohan School of Shaolin, a Las Vegas Kung Fu school. That’s because the lion dance utilizes the footwork, body movement and balance Kung Fu requires. It’s very acrobatic. And the costumes are worthy of a New Year’s parade.

The Grand Opening ceremony starts at 5. And it’s FREE!

By the way, WuHu Noodle features hand-crafted noodle bowls and wok-fired recipes. Yum.

Happy Fourth of July, Las Vegas!
