While I think boxers have the best bodies, triathletes are by far the best athletes on the planet. Props to anyone who can swim 1.2 miles in Lake Mead, bicycle 65 miles through the stark desert of Lake Mead National Recreation Area before they run 13.1 miles through my hilly Henderson neighborhood.
Come watch these wonders at work this Sunday for the Ironman 70.3 Silverman. It will probably be tough to cheer on the swimmers, but when they hit the bikes or the streets, help them push through the exhaustion.
If you haven’t seen one of these events live, you are missing a life event. You can feel their pain and exhaustion. Their will to achieve a goal, no matter how difficult. The excitement is palpable.

The Ironman bike course
The finish line is the Henderson Pavilion. The winner probably will break the wire about 10:30.
P.S. That’s walking distance from the Cheesecake Factory. After all that cheering, we deserve a piece of cheesecake, right?
P.S. If you miss this one, the next race is in Hawaii….
