4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

After eating, my most favorite thing is musical theater. And another favorite thing is helping people, especially young people, who are not as fortunate as I am now. Las Vegas, you can do both tonight!

Broadway in the Hood is a local charity that presents Broadway plays throughout the year. Most of the cast, however, come from the ‘hood. (Often famous Strip entertainers perform cameo roles and work with the kids.) Some are even homeless. But boy can they sing! The goal is to expose the kids in the ‘hood to the enrichment of live theater.

The productions are powerful. The big musical happens on the Smith Center main stage in May and those tickets are spendy. But tonight you can see the Broadway in the Hood kids in their seasonal show, Seasons of Love.  The show celebrates the diversity and love of the holiday season through music and dance.

The show is FREE. However, the cast asks that you bring a pair of brand new athletic shoes for kids, since Broadway in the Hood is partnering with the Shoes for Children Shoe Drive.

The show is at the theater in the West Las Vegas Library on Lake Mead, off the 15 near Losee. Starts at 6:30.

See you there, Las Vegas! And Merry Christmas.
