4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

Beth Ellyn Rosenthal, eXp Realty

Happy New Year, Las Vegas!

Tomorrow night is Chinese New Year. The Venetian and Palazzo know exactly what to do to welcome in the Year of the Rooster. The lobby display is replete with red and great Oriental joy. A  hand-painted, 15-foot-tall rooster crows in the center of the display.

But wait! Tomorrow the resort will unveil a 3,500 pound fire rooster covered with 68,000 crystals, plus or minus.

Chinese new year dragon dance

After you ogle the bejeweled Rooster, enjoy the traditional lion dance.  The dance symbolizes luck and prosperity. Who doesn’t need more of those? The lions are undulating through the Venetian tomorrow at 3 beginning at the porte cochere. Then you can do it again at the Aria at 4. In case you have to work tomorrow,  Sunday they will be dancing through the MGM Grand at 4 and the Bellagio at 6:30.

The Linq Promenade is hosting a dragon dance all week-end at 6. A local Sichuan dance troop is performing.

I did mention that all this is FREE. (Well, you knew ogling the fire chicken was free….)

Happy New Year, Las Vegas
