4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

In my day the library was just a place to wrestle books away from the mean librarians. No more!

Head to the Green Valley Library for a double-header of FREE fun this week-end.

Tomorrow you can see the film “Into the Woods” FREE at 2 p.m. Meryl Streep was nominated for an Academy Award this year for her portrayal of the witch. It is a great Broadway musical.

(P.S. I was actually in a play with Meryl Streep when we were both at Yale. She was the lead and I was a walk-on with no lines. Surprise. Surprise.)

Sunday the Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society has scheduled a FREE ancestry search day. Experienced genealogists will be present to help you find family information from the 19th and 20th centuries. Don’t go if you don’t want to know what you don’t know (to misquote Toby Keith.) One of my friends discovered she had a brother she never knew about….

Be sure to bring your own flash drive because you probably won’t be able to remember all the facts.

The fun starts at 10:39. The experts will be there until 3:30.
