4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

Now that the Golden Knights have arrived in Las Vegas, it’s time to incorporate some hockey lingo into our everyday language. So here is a hatrick of FREE fun in Las Vegas this weekend.

Start tomorrow off at the Summerlin Festival of Arts at Downtown Summerlin. It’s an open-air arts festival featuring 110 artists.

Plus all those luscious Downtown Summerlin restaurants are offering goodies.

Circus 1902 and Phat Strad will be performing. You have to pay big money to see them at their local Las Vegas digs. But what really intrigued me was the Pet Art opportunity. Heaven Can Wait Animal Society is giving your dogs and cats stencil tattoos. Who knew?

The festival is Saturday and Sunday from 10-5.

Then head over to Fremont Street. The actual Stanley Cup, the oldest championship trophy in professional sports, will be at the Fremont Street Experience. Bring your skates because there will also be a pop up hockey rink and the chance to meet Golden Knight players.

All this happens noon to five tomorrow.

For those you can stay up late, the Back of the House Brawl starts at 1 am Sunday morning. Three local chefs:

  1. Sean Farney of Five50 Pizza
  2. Chris Palmeri of Naked City Pizza
  3. Emily Rubaker of Urban Seed

compete on food trucks. This time the trucks will park in the parking lot of Urban Seed. The party actually starts at 10 pm tomorrow but the cookin’ doesn’t fire up until 1 am.

Urban Seed, by the way, grows 24 varieties of produce in a vertical aeroponic system. Yep, just 10 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.

THANK goodness there is such cool stuff to do in Las Vegas. FREE.

Have a great week-end, Las Vegas.
