4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

Beth Ellyn Rosenthal, eXp Realty

Today’s #4-Letter Friday installment is to help you get in the Las Vegas Christmas spirit. (Only 13 days left!!!!)

The Ethel M Chocolate Factory in Henderson is a Las Vegas Christmas tradition. (This is year 21.) The employees decorate the three-acre Botanical Cactus Garden behind the factory with half a million Christmas lights.

I go every year and never cease to be amazed. I’m from Chicago and grew up with Christmas lights blazing from towering pine trees. So it’s a “what’s wrong with this picture” sensation to see Saguaro cacti and burgeoning agave plants awash in red and purple lights; the jarring juxtaposition just adds to the romance.

Children’s choirs from local grade schools serenade you with Christmas carols. It’s just a magical place this time of year.

Additionally, you can peek into the factory which is in full swing for the holidays.

Alas, the Ethel M store is open with all its luscious treats. I admit I submitted to the siren call of those dark chocolate truffles….

The Ethel M Christmas Cactus Garen awash in light!

We might not have snow in Las Vegas at Christmas time, but we know how to light up a cactus garden!
