4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

eXp Realty

While Hawaii is certainly a more exotic place to watch an Ironman race, Las Vegans only have to drive to Henderson  to watch world-class athletes compete in one of the toughest athletic endeavors on earth.

However, you will have to wait to Sunday for the Ironman 70.3 Silverman. This is one of 50 Ironman events around the globe this year.

The athletes have to qualify at one of these races to compete in the 2015 World Championship in Austria. The top 35 athletes in this race qualify. Oh, and the top female and male finishers share $15,000.

If this race is like the others, participants will range from 18 to 78 and hail from all 50 states and 48 other countries. Henderson expects 2,000 participants

This grueling race includes in this order:

  • A 1.2 mile swim in Lake Mead
  • A 56-mile bike race through Lake Mead National Recreation Area
  • A 13.1 mile run through Henderson’s most scenic residential areas

Cheering on the participants is FREE!

You can motivate these athletes anywhere. But the easiest access is along Horizon Ridge at Gibson or at Arroyo Grande and Stephanie. The finish line is at the Henderson Pavilion.

P.S. There’s also an IronKids Fun Run tomorrow at 9 am at the Henderson Pavilion.

Helping you live like a local in Las  Vegas.

((hugs))
