4-Letter Friday: FREE Fun in Las Vegas

Beth Ellyn Rosenthal, eXp Realty

How can Las Vegas families celebrate the last days of summer vacation before school starts Monday? Here’s a suggestion: How about going on a FREE hike?

Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead National Recreation Area are the two of the most popular outdoor hiking locales for Las Vegas locals. Don’t forget Mount Charleston!

The Spring Mountains Visitors Center has scheduled two guided hikes this week-end:

  • A night hike tonight from 8 to 9.
  • An afternoon hike Sunday from 2 to 4 pm.

A naturalist who is intimately familiar with the terrain will guide the group, pointing out flora and fauna. You’ll also learn about the geology of the Spring Mountains.

Each trail is marked “easy” and consists mostly of paved paths and some caliche gravel trails. Easy, of course, is subjective, but people are nice and probably will help you.

Space is limited, so you have to register. Go to www.gomtcharleston.com to do that.

Who says Las Vegas is just neon lights and casinos? The surrounding area is just gorgeous!

Have a great week-end, Las Vegas.
