Since Gayot and Yahoo both rated Las Vegas THE No. 1 destination for New Year’s Eve, you can image the miraculous goings-on tonight. If you have $60,000 after Christmas, you can have dinner for 12 at Andreas at the Encore, then enjoy the goings on at a table next to DJ Diplo at Surrender, lots of free booze and the No. 1 perk: one person in your party (hopefully the one footing the bill) gets to stand next to Diplo at the DJ booth for the midnight countdown.
But you can still go out tonight for FREE. Head downtown to the Container Park. The fun starts at noon. And you can bring the Kinder. Pick up a “kid’s celebration package” and then head to the New Year’s Toast and Drum Circle, which starts pounding exactly at noon. There will be age-appropriate live music and food specials from Big Ern’s BBQ and Cheffinis Hot Dogs (extremely nutritious) until 5.

Downtown Container Park at night
Take the kids home but come back at 7 when the adult party starts. Josh Royse, Jessicao Manalo and The Union Drifters will perform. Daniel Park hosts. And there will be a FREE champagne toast at midnight.
If you don’t want to deal with Las Vegas roads or parking downtown, do something outrageous and take the bus. And guess what? It’s FREE. Yep, the Regional Transportation Commission is offering FREE rides on all buses from 6 pm tonight until 9 am tomorrow. And then you don’t have to worries about those pesky DUI checkpoints.
