It’s Four-Letter Friday in Las Vegas. The day your Las Vegas Real Estate Concierge tells you about FREE things to do in Las Vegas since free is her favorite four-letter word.
How about free video game play?
When I was a kid (long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away), my mother would give me a bag full of quarters and drop me off at the video arcade so she can have some peace and quiet without my irritating, frenetic self under foot. I loved the games, the noises and the colors.
Today Henderson is the place where you can play video games like in the 1960s …without the quarters! And in two places.
Hi Scores Bar Arcade caters to gamers of all kinds, but especially Boomers like me who are nostalgic for their childhood favorites (assuming we can remember them!) Hi Scores has a multitude of retro video games like Dig Dug and Frogger. And the Henderson establishment has the real deal, an arcade machine, not a simulation on a PC, which wasn’t around when the games were popular.
Of course, the liquor and the food at Hi Scores is not free. The offerings are reasonably priced and the food is actually really good-inventive, clever and tasting as good as it looks. The restaurant is in its own corner away from the buzz of the games. Hamburgers, pizzas, wraps and affordable breakfast served all day sums up the fare.
Hi Scores has 13 craft beers on tap at any one time. The beer, to reiterate, is not free.
Bad Beat Brewing also offers free video games, shuffleboard and Cards Against Humanity. Obviously, here beer is the thing. Ironically, Bad Beat Brewing also has 13 beers available. They have clever names like Bluffing Isn’t Weisse, Hoppy Times and Gutshot. The establishment offers six original brews heralding from Henderson itself.
Bad Beat offers a tasting flight for $10, a good way to go to see exactly what you like. You can afford it since the games are free!
Bad Beat Brewing is in the Henderson Booze District, another reason to check it out!
Have a great week-end. Here’s how to live life like a local.
((hugs))
