Happy Birthday, America. And Happy Fourth of July, Las Vegas.
We have the usual suspects for fireworks tonight. Station Casinos, which rotates its fireworks displays every year, has selected Red Rock Resort and Casino (Summerlin) and Green Valley Ranch Resort and Casino (Henderson) for tonight’s colorful displays.
The Las Vegas Strip always has fireworks, too. Tonight fireworks will light up the sky from the Stratosphere and Caesars Palace.
But want to see a great fireworks show by Pyrotecnico and do a good dead (mitzvah), too? Then head over to the Stars, Stripes and Sparks festival at Providence, a master-planned community in the northwest. Students from Bozarth Elementary School are selling red, white and blue glow-in-the dark necklaces to pay for school programs. And please bring a new toy for USO Las Vegas. USO Las Vegas provides a home away from home for the 32,245 active troops duty troops and 4,760 National Guard personnel and their families who live in southern Nevada.
The event starts at six at Nickerbocker Park. The Garage Boys will perform free. You can bring a picket basket or buy food from the food trucks.
As Brooks and Dunn sing in their Caesars show, “Only in America!”
