The drama! The delicious smells! The heartbreak!!!🌽
The city of Henderson hosts an outdoor festival the last Friday of every month called, you guessed it: Last Friday. Just Add Water Street (because its on Water Street)! Tonight’s fair features a cook-off between Scott Pajak of Lagasse’s Stadium at the Palazzo and Robert Lomeli of Hecho en Vegas at the MGM Grand.
Water Street is jumping!
The MC/referee is Scott Commings, currently the executive chef of Freedom Beats at the Downtown Grand and master chef of the Culinary Road Trip gourmet series. Chef Commings knows a little something about the pressures of culinary competitions. He was the winner of Season 12 of “Hell’s Kitchen.”🍄
The kitchen dust-up starts at 7. But the party begins at 6 and goes to 10. Food vendors, retail pop ups and live music are the other ingredients happening during Last Friday.
If Mexican food is more your thing, head out to Sunset Park tomorrow for the Tacos & Tamales Festival, hosted by the Clark County Parks and Recreation Department. This is the festival’s second year and the county decided to supersize it! 🍽️ This year there will be a Vegan Village. (They heard us!)
Don’t forget to unwrap ’em!
There will be more than food. The festivities include:
- A Lucha Libre wrestling exhibit
- Carnival rides
- Margarita and mojito tastings
Plus there will be live music on two stages. Salsa (both kinds) anyone?
Both parking and admission to the festival are FREE.🌯 However, if you want to partake of any of the delicious offerings, well, that will cost you good American money. The fun starts at noon and ends at 8 pm. 🧀
