So much to do, so little time. (Sorry, Miquel Brown). Welcome to Vegas!
Tickets to the kewlest shows in Las Vegas can be spendy. You’ll shell out $2,948 for the top ticket to Katy Perry’s new show at Resorts World.
But it’s my job, dear readers, to find fun FREE things to do in this awe-some entertainment town. Buckle up ’cause here we go!
Attend a Vegas Golden Knights Watch Party (Henderson)

Well, we’re second in the Pacific Division. So there’s still a fighting chance we will take home that Stanley Cup.
How can anyone forgot the excitement of 2018’s first season? We lost that trophy in the last five minutes of the season. But what a season!
That’s the year we learned to become fanatic fans. And that’s the year the city of Henderson started hosting its now famous Watch Parties.
Tonight we play the Arizona Coyotes.
Tonight’s watch party features a live DJ and souvenir giveaways. There’s outdoor seating facing the Jumbotron with surround sound.
And catch this! There is a FREE public skate session during the watch party. That is, if you are the first 200 guests who want to lace up. FREE includes a pair of rental skates. All you have to do is sign the liability insurance waiver. (Their lawyers made them do this!)
How kewl is that???
The party starts at 6 pm at Water Street Plaza. It’s next door to Lifeguard Arena, where you can skate.
I did tell you everything is FREE except the food you purchase from the food trucks, right? Go Knights Go!
Search for Hidden Treasure at the Desert Breeze Garage Sale (Southwest)

I will admit this in public. I love garage sales. You find the kewlest stuff.
People in the Southwest have money, so I’m betting there will be a lot of kewl stuff for sale.
Even if you aren’t spending, the “window shopping” is great FREE entertainment.
P.S. Next week, I will let you know what I took home. (I am furnishing my new Airbnb three miles from the Strip and I want it to be memorable.)
Cheer on the Runners, Then Rock Out at the Concert (Strip)

Ever wanted to run down the Las Vegas Strip at night with no cars honking?
This year the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series expects more than 3,500 runners to do just that.
I guess the organizers figured people got out of shape during the pandemic because there is no marathon this year. Instead, there is a half marathon, a 10k and a 5k.
The 5k course is downtown (you still run on Las Vegas Boulevard). The race here starts at 5 on Saturday.
The half marathon and 10k are on the Strip. The start time is 4:30 Sunday.
My sister ran this marathon race 10 years ago. I was one of the hundreds lining the streets cheering the runners on. It’s not just a race. It’s a running party. Tons of FREE fun if you don’t want to pound the pavement like the racers do.
There are bands and DJs throughout the course. Rock out!
The finish line is at The Mirage.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is hosting a watch party at its North Bar. The North Bar will have its own live music.
And everybody can attend the FREE Saturday night concert at the Downtown Events Center. (That is where I watched the Vegas Golden Knights lose their last game in 2018. But I digress).
The headliner is Las Vegas native Brody Dolyniuk. His band, Symphonic Rockshow, features both a rock band AND an orchestra. He likes the hard rock of Led Zepplin, the Who, Pink Floyd and Queen. I am a big fan.
Have a great week-end, Las Vegas!
