Want to spend a day at a Las Vegas Strip pool…FREE? You can tomorrow.
The resort: Sahara Las Vegas. (Which used to be SLS Las Vegas, which used to be the Sahara, but I digress.)
What’s even better: you get a FREE workout, too. The event is called Shred and Splash Saturdays. As Anglique Gorges, the event founder explains, “Because FREE fitness classes with outdoor ambiance and friends are the BEST kind of workouts.” (Her emphasis.)
Make it a pool day. FREE at the Sahara Las Vegas.
Angelique teaches a Fitness Friday segment every week on Fox5, which is a sponsor of the event, besides our Las Vegas Raiders and Athleta.

Beside FREE admission to the pool, which opens at 9, kick boxers receive one drink ticket and waived fees on cabana rentals. (They start at $250 people!)
The class, however, starts at the ungodly hour of 8 am, which is putting a crimp on my late night with Jeffrey Osborne at the Orleans. But of course that makes perfect sense if you are going to work out outside in the broiler called Las Vegas.
The sponsors are providing water, towels and Kind power bars. We will be working out in the shade.
Everything is happenin’ at the Sahara Las Vegas
This week’s class is cardio kick boxing, taught by my two favorite instructors in Las Vegas, Susan Berkley and Rawlins Apilado. Rawlins teaches kick boxing at Nellis Air Force Base, so you can imagine. I don’t know who has a more intense personality. Just being there will be fun with those wild two!

The class is for all ages and fitness levels. Trust me, facing my 40th 29th birthday, it’s hard to standing on one leg, less kicking the other! But I be there!
Next week is Kundalini yoga. The week after that is Twerk and Tone. Count me in on those two!
And of course, FREE parking! What a novel idea.
