FREE Fun in Las Vegas: 4-Letter Friday

  • Las Vegas is one of the entertainment capitals of the world. But ticket prices can be spendy. 4-Letter Friday is determined to find FREE things to do in Las Vegas this week-end that rock!

After partying with 329,999 other people on the Las Vegas Strip on New Year’s Eve, I’m all wore out, as they say in Texas. So I’m staying in this week-end. But you, my faithful, probably want to still par-tee.

So here are three FUN things to do in Las Vegas for FREE this week-end.

The Burley-Q Revue

Did you know the Burlesque Hall of Fame is located here in Las Vegas? The institution offers classes so there is a wealth of trained burlesque women in Las Vegas.

Kalani Kokonuts performs every Saturday night at the Sapphire Comedy Club if you miss the FREE revenue.

Burlesque can be a lot more than remarkably sensual. One dance was a comedienne and told the most hysterical jokes as she disrobed. Another could have been on the US gymnastics team. She did body-twisting feats as she took her clothes off. Another lady squirmed out of a straight jacket David Cooperfield style. The genre has sooo many flavors.

Want to see a burlesque show for FREE? Then had to the Double Down Saloon Sunday at 9 for the Burley-Q-Revue. There’s always a fem-cee to shepherd the show. Grassroots shows like this are always professional and tres entertaining.

The Bootlegger Boogie

Welcome to the Roaring Twenties. Get the feel of last century’s Roaring Twenties at the Las Vegas Mob Museum.

Every month the Mob Museum offers FREE dance classes so locals can learn Prohibition-era dances. Even though these are partner dances, you don’t need a partner.

Monday’s class features the Charleston, a quick-moving’ dance popular in the 1930s.

Zappo’s.com sponsors the monthly classes.

The one-hour class starts at 7:30. Enter through the speakeasy side door. The secret password is “old fashioned.” The class is actually in the Museum’s speakeasy called The Underground.

Like the Burlesque Hall of Fame, Las Vegas’s Mob Museum explores all facets of organized crime and law enforcement. There’s an actual crime lab. The Museum has its own distillery because hey that’s what the criminals did during Prohibition.

I think I’ll be recovered enough to go dancing. See you there.

Have a great week-end, Las Vegas.
