Las Vegas is one of the entertainment capitals of the world. But shows and concerts can be spendy. Here are some FREE things to do in Las Vegas this week-end.
Sunday night is Academy Awards night. I love movies! Since I wasn’t invited to the actual event (even though I’ve already penned an acceptance speech for a movie script I wrote that no one has purchased…yet), I’ll have to watch it on TV.
But more fun yet is to watch it with your fellow cineastes (movie experts). Here are two FREE parties.
Tuscany Suites & Casino
In the spirit of “Forbidden Broadway,” enjoy “And the Funniest Song Goes To…”This is a FREE post-Oscar show. Val Witherspoon of “Friends the Musical Parody“and Sarah Lowe of “Atomic Saloon Show” host.
Kenny Davidsen is at the piano to accompany the troop of singers we locals all know and love. That includes Enoch Augustus Scott of “Zombie Burlesque” and impressionist John Di Domenico (who does Trump better than our President hisself). My favorite John Di Domenico joke is, “I’ve been to Israel, so I know the wall works. I saw no Mexicans in Israel.” But I digress.
You can’t have too much humor these days. So this show will be fun!
Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas
Very little on the Las Vegas Strip is FREE. But Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas is hosting an “Oscar Night Buzzed” party.
Each table will have a ballot so you can guess who will win and earn prizes yourself, if not an actual statuette.
The party is FREE but alas the drinks are not. However, Beer Park is offering drink special including $5 glasses of champagne. Plus there will be drinks honoring the contestants such as a 1917 Old Fashioned and a Knives Out Bloody Mary. (I love clever!)
The fun starts with the red carpet walk at 4 pm.
