Las Vegas is one of the entertainment capitals of the world. People come here to have fun! But shows and concerts can be very spendy. This blog is devoted to help you, my loyal readers, find FREE things to do in Las Vegas this week-end.

Vegas Golden Knights fans: the Fan Fest is this week-end. Love soul food and soul music? The Taste and Sound of Soul Festival is back. And if you love good guitar music, the Guitar Gods Review is at The Sand Dollar Lounge. All FREE!
And if your birthday is February 29, there are tons of things you can do FREE since you really only have a birthday every four years.
Vegas Golden Knights Fan Fest

Golden Knights players and various announcers will be there to meet you. It’s the annual party where you get to actually talk to the beloved athletes. There will be question and answer sessions; you can ask anything!
The shindig is tomorrow (Saturday) at the Downtown Events Center from 1-3. The gates open at 12:45.
In addition to the excitement of meeting the players, the event will include “Fan-ily Feud” and “Knightlywed” games between broadcasters and players.
There will also be performances by the VGK Cast. I love the shows during the period breaks.
Fans can also play street hockey. There will also be inflatable obstacle courses.
We love your Golden Knights. Enjoy!
Taste & Sounds of Soul

The festival is back after a year absence. Yep, the Fremont Street Experience once again regains its soul!
There will be 40 vendors featuring 25 different cuisines. But why order teriyaki at a soul food festival? Scarf down that divine corn bread and those healthy collard greens. The CDC says washing your hands, getting enough sleep and eating dark greens like collards are the best ways to ward off the caronavirus (sic). But I digress.
The festival will also feature boutiques selling original clothing, candles and sports memorabilia. Neither the goods nor the food is free, of course.
You can’t have a soul festival without soul music. Live performances happen on the Fremont Street Experience stage, which is in front of the D.
The festival begins at 11 am Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Guitar Gods Review

The Sand Dollar opened its doors in 1976, an iconic blues haven on Spring Mountain. Legends like Muddy Water, B.B. King and even Mick Jagger have stopped by when they were in Las Vegas.
No guarantee you will see anyone super famous. But you will see Rod DeGeorge’s Guitar Gods Review. The review is a tribute to guitar greats like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.
DeGeorge is a blues man who plays a lot like Jeff Beck. He’s played guitar for Foreigner, Bad Company, 38 Special, John Lennon and David Bowie. And we lucky locals get to hear this guitar virtuoso for FREE!
Show starts at 10 pm tomorrow (Saturday.)
Leap Year Babies

Here are three things you can get FREE if you were born on February 29:
- Olive Garden. You can get four FREE Dolcinis (desserts layered with cake, mouuse, pastry cream and berries) or take home fettucine alfredo for $2.29.
- Farmer Boys. Birthday people get a FREE big cheese cheeseburger.
- Denny’s. Enjoy a FREE Grand Slam.
If you have money….

Morton’s the Steakhouse is offering twin lobster tails for $39 every Friday during Lent. Who wants to go?
Have a great week-end, Las Vegas!
