Until the arrival of Covid-19, Las Vegas was one of the entertainment capitals of the planet. This blog shared kewl things to do for FREE in this amazing place. Well, today was the first day of Phase 2 opening. And here is something fun and FREE to do out of the house. No more Netflix!
Finally. I have something for you to do that’s not in your house. You have to be socially distant. But still. Something FREE to do!
Line dance lessons at Stoney’s
Tonight is the first night Stoney’s Rockin’ Country is open. There will be no partner boot scootin’. But the dance floor is open!
All y’all (plural of y’all if you’re not from Texas) know I spent a quarter century in Dallas. You can take the girl out of Texas but you can’t take Texas outta of the girl. Stoney’s makes me homesick…. But I digress.
Stoney’s is known for its dance lessons. Tonight the cavernous country hang-out is relaunching its line dance lesson because, hey, you can do that in a place that big.
Here’s the line-up for tonight:
- Country Girl Stomp at 8:30
- Walk the Line at 9:30
- Red Neck Angel at 10:30
Tomorrow night, the dances you will learn are:
- Double D at 8:30
- The Wolf at 9:30
- Black Velvet at 10:30
Admission to Stoney’s is currently FREE.
You do have to be 21 because Stoney’s serves lots of liquor. If you get the munchies, Carne & Comida provide “border town treats,” including tacos, nachos, street dogs and sliders. These are NOT FREE.
Reservations Required
You have to go to https://eatapp.co/reserve/stoneys-rockin-country-9ln17 to reserve your spot. I assume management is limiting the attendance.
No long lines out the door like week-ends pre-Covid.
Also, no live music. Instead, DJ Damian will be in the plexiglass DJ booth spinning tunes.
Stoney’s promises every employee will be wearing masks. Wonder how they look with cowboy hats?
