Las Vegas is back! Live entertainment is now back in bid-ness. It may take a month to get situated to comply with the new health rules, but it’s happenin’. But please please please wear your mask!
FREE Halloween movie parties at Cinemark

I personally am not going to see a movie in a theater because everyone will be eating popcorn with their masks off. (I am super careful because I am facing my 41st 29th birthday in February and 8 out of 10 deaths are in my age group 😥).
But having a private screening is another thing entirely. You get the entire auditorium🤣!!!!!
Cinemark Theaters is giving away 1,000 FREE private watch parties for Halloween. To win one, you have to go to the Cinemark website or the Cinemark app. Start fighting for your screening at 8:31 am next Friday October 9.
You can invite up to 20 guests. And you can pick your favorite Halloween movie from the following:
- Beetlejuice
- Hocus Pocus
- Coco
- Nightmare Before Christmas
- Halloween
- A Nightmare on Elm STreet
- The Addams Family
- The Exocist: The Version You’ve Never Seen Before
This is a national contest, so you’d better be quick. That’s why I am giving you a week’s notice so you can practice. Personally, I suck at this. That’s why I am always group 3 on Southwest Airlines flights. But you can invite me as one of your 20!
If you don’t win, you can rent your own private screening room for $99. Same rules apply.
At least all the candy is buy one, get one FREE. And a large popcorn will be just $5.
Virtual First Friday

Once upon a time, hundreds of Las Vegans trooped to the Arts District for this wonderful street festival. There is food. There is live music. You can always stroll through the arts galleries. I bought a T-shirt during the first shindig in 2002.
Tony Hsieh of Zappas created the festival to support community connection and introduce emerging artists. Today is actually First Friday’s 18th anniversary.
The heart of the event is the intersection of Casino Center Drive and Colorado Avenue. The event always kicks off at 5 and ends promptly at 11.
I typically park at the Clark County Government Center parking lot and walk. But tonight’s First Friday is virtual, so you don’t need to worry about parking!
Obviously no food trucks to snack from but hey, you have our own frig. But you can see the new menu at 18bin.
The highlight is a visit to the private Mindfulness & Healing Event for front-line workers.
Just tune in to @firstfridaylv on Instagram.
Have a safe and healthy week-end, Las Vegas!
