Las Vegas is starting to bloom just like the trees. It was 88 today! Most of the spendy Las Vegas Strip shows haven’t reopened. Neither have most of the fun FREE venues. But there are some. Here are some FREE things to do this week-end.
How many doughnuts can you eat?
Ever had a craving for a fresh doughnut at three in the morning? Or even harder,three in the afternoon?
Then you know about Pinkbox Doughnuts, the doughnut shop open 24 hours a day, even holidays. And their slogan is accurate: they ARE so good you’ll lick the box.
Tomorrow Pinkbox is opening it’s fourth store in Las Vegas on Sunset at Annie Oakley. The first 100 customers will receive as FREE t-shirt. (The fun starts at 9 am.)
But the best part is the doughnut eating contest. The prize: FREE doughnuts for a year. I would go into diabetic sugar shock, but you go for it!
If you do buy a doughnut, hope there’s a pink ticket in it. That will also earn you FREE doughnuts for a year.
The party includes live music and a photo booth.

Hear Angelina Alexon at Bally’s
This weekend the performer is singing her heart out at The Indigo Lounge at Bally’s Las Vegas, which never has a cover.
If you’ve never heard the young chanteuse, she sings in eight different languages. (She’s Greek.) And she has a five-octave soprano vocal range. She covers Mariah Carey like it’s really Mariah. Ditto for Celion Dion.
My fav: Her version of my personal anthem: I Will Survive by Gloria Gayner.
But she also pens her own songs.
Get a FREE ride to your Covid vaccine
Do you live in North Las Vegas? Then you can get a FREE ride using Lyft to and from the vaccination site.
Your progressive city partnered with the ride-sharing company to offer these free rids. All you have to do is call the library. They will provide you with the secret code.
Yes, you do have to have a Lyft account. And you do have to verify your vaccination appointment.
I got both my shots (in Henderson.) I survived, just as Gloria says. If you do decide to get yours, be glad you live in North Las Vegas.
