Twelve more days and Las Vegas is back! It will go by fast. In the mean time, loyal readers, I have assembled for you some kewl things to do this week-end. FREE.
Watch our Vegas Golden Knights in Henderson

Yes, our beloved Vegas Golden Knights are in the Stanley Cup play offs again. And now the series is tied 2-2. Saturday night’s game is important.
The City of Henderson, now home to the Silver Knights, is hosting a Watch Party. It’s a street party at Water Street Plaza in front of the Silver Knights new ice rink.
You can see all the action on the 42-foot-wide jumbotron.
Since the real action is happening in Minnesota, Chance (the team mascot), the Vegas Vivas (the cheerleaders)and the Drumbots drumline will be doing their thing live on Water Street.
The puck drop is 5 pm, so see you there!
And yes, the street party is FREE.
Enjoy Live Music at the Mermaid Lounge

All y’all know I love aquariums. Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay is gorgeous but you have to pay to see the sharks. (the real kind.) The Silverton has an ah-ma-zing aquarium. You can see these fish FREE (if you can keep your hands off the slot machines or stay out of the sports book.)
The Silverton’s aquarium has 117,000 gallons of salt water. It is home to 4,000 tropical fish. Before the pandemic, real mermaids fed the fish twice daily. At Christmas time, Santa had the honors. (Yes, he got into the tank in full Santa gear.)
This aquariam forms one wall of the Mermaid Restaurant and Lounge. The restaurant doesn’t serve fish. (Don’t want to upset ’em. But it does serve pizza, burgers and subs. Those aren’t free.
But what is FREE is the live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The performance sessions are called Mermaid Lounge live.
Friday night HB & Brian entertain. Tomorrow night it’s Paul and Angelina. One of my favorite Vegas performers, Jassen Allen, performs next Saturday. All talented locals.
A swimming good time!
Open Mic Night at Xreme Comedy Club

Many moons ago I went to a local comedy club. Before the show started, the MC invited members of the audience to come up and tell a joke.
Many of the participants were hilarious.
I know two jokes. I summoned up my courage and told one. I got laughs but decided not to quit my day job.
If you want to try your hand at stand-up, head to the Xtreme Comedy Club on Sunday. Every Sunday is Open Mic night. See if you can survive the stares of the live audience. Who knows, you may be the next Mrs. Maisel.
Comic Carlos Anthony hosts.
Comics get in FREE. And the public can too enjoy the show FREE, although the club will ask for a donation.
Have a great week-end, Las Vegas.
