So much to do, so little time. (Sorry Miguel Brown. Remember her song?) Entertainment in Las Vegas is super spendy. But there is a wealth of things do to FREE. The goal of this blog is to share those FREE things for you, since FREE is my favorite four-letter world.
Check out the pop-up fish market at La Strega

Of course you know Las Vegas is a desert. So I maintain that’s why we locals are so obsessed with fresh fish.
One of the fishiest places in town is Trattoria La Strega, run by chef/partner Gina Marinelli.
Sunday she is hosting a pop-up fish market (Pescheria for you Italian speakers) at her Summerlin eatery. What’s FREE are her cooking demonstrations. If you want to buy the raw seafood and broths, they come with FREE take-home instructions on home to cook them at home.
Strega means witch in Italian. Just sayin’.
This Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm.
Check out Virgin Hotels

Las Vegas has two-two new casinos in town. I haven’t been to Resorts World yet, but I have checked out Virgin Hotels.
You have to love the Virgin Hotels bus parked out front. It’s loud, with red and yellow screaming hello.
It reminds me of the crazy ’60s, which was what the old Hard Rock was about.
The new hotel has a kewl new outdoor concert venue by the pool. Can’t wait to see a show there. Check it out!
Downtown Rocks…again!

The FREE concert series at the Fremont Street Experience returns!
The Fremont Street Experience has three stages, all located under the Viva Vision canopy. The shows feature great live rock music and are always packed.
One of my favorite Downtown Rocks show was Gary Sinese and his band.
The inaugural show is this Saturday night featuring Chevelle. Show starts at 9 and it will be on the 3rd Street stage. Two brothers–Pete and Sam Loeffler— started this band in 2002. Chevelle has had 17 songs reaching the Top 10 on the rock charts and has had seven No. 1 hits.
And you can see this concert FREE.
Every Saturday night through November.
Have a great week-end, Las Vegas.
