Las Vegas purports to be the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” That might be hyperbole, but not by much. So much to do, so little time. (Sorry, Miguel Brown.)
Alas. Alack. Alay. The entertainment in this capital can be quite spendy. It is my job, dear readers, to find the finest FREE entertainment and dining Las Vegas has to offer.
P.S. Many venues are now requiring masks.
Friday the 13th Goodies at Wendy’s

Thirteen is my lucky number. And it’s yours if you like Wendy’s croissant breakfast sandwich.
And there is no other purchase necessary!!!!
The FREE meal is in honor of Friday the 13th although they will be serving it tomorrow too.
The Maple Chicken Bacon croissant sandwich is excluded. I guess that maple seasoning is just too expensive to give away. But you can enjoy the Sausage, Egg and Swiss Croissant or the Egg and Swiss for the vegans.
Since 13 is my lucky number, I have never understood why people are afraid of Friday the 13th. There’s a name for that: Triskaidekaphobia. Try saying that after a mouthful of breakfast sandwich.
Mange. Mange.
Boulder Station Rocks

I moved to Las Vegas in 1996 and rented an apartment near Boulder Station. Soon it became my home away from home. It had opened two years earlier. To me Boulder Station represented every thing that was kewl in Las Vegas.
Back then you could see a show at the Railhead, the casino’s intimate showroom, on Friday night and then roll into the buffet for the breakfast buffet that started at midnight. What a great way to start the week-end.
The Railhead is still there, but the breakfast buffets are long-gone. Post-covid I vote the Boulder Station bosses reinstate them. But I digress.
This week-end Kixx Bar has some interesting live music.
Tonight Lounge OrFanZ takes the stage. The singers are “lounge orphans” so they decided on a phonetic spelling which of course is much easier to spell. The duo perform live with guitars, bass and vocals with customer-written, pre-recorded drum tracks.
They developed a following playing at First Fridays five years ago. Now they have a pretty loyal fan base.
Lounge OrFanZ remake cover tunes with a rock and Latin twist. It’s interesting to hear their totally different take.
They also perform their own original music from their debut album “Mashroom.” (Can someone explain to me why it’s called an album? I best half my readers have never seen an LP.) Please PM me with the answer.
If you miss ’em tonight, Lounge OrFanZ is performing at Boulder Station every Friday through Labor Day week-end.Have a safe, healthy week-end, Las Vegas.
