Who will win the Game of Thrones? We’ll know in just three days when the final episode airs.
Las Vegas is full of spendy Game of Thrones parties. The Hofbrauhaus, for example is charging $44 per for its “Ultimate Game of Thrones Viewing Party.” You can quaff five different house brews and themed food. Oh, and the $44 includes a souvenir mug.
Who will actually sit on the Iron Throne?
But I have found you a FREE Game of Thrones send-off party (assuming you don’t want to see it at my house where the real Ultimate Game of Thrones Viewing Party will be.) It’s at The Nerd, a bar on the second floor of Neonopolis in downtown Las Vegas. This establishment is the perfect place for this kind of party, since it’s slogan is “Where Cosplay Meets Cocktails.” Exactly!
After we know what happens to Dany, the party continues with full-on contact jousting with knights in armor. And they will spar with medieval-style weapons Glegane-style. Yep, right here in Las Vegas! Our own Gleganebowl!
And here’s the best part. The Nerd will validate your parking ticket if you park in the Neonopolis Garage. FREE parking. What a concept!
(My parking hack for the Fremont Street Experience is at the–wait for it–Fremont Street Experience garage at 111 South 4th Street. It’s just $3 an hour with a daily max of $20. But I digress.)
The 9th annual Las Vegas edition of the Electronic Daisy Carnival (EDC), the world’s largest dance music festival, begins tonight at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. All locals know not to get anywhere near that segment of the 15 until Monday afternoon.
One of the many reasons I wish I were younger is to be able to stay up all night and attend this mind-boggling event. So much to do and see! I’ll wear a crazy costume! I wanna go!!!! But since that is never going to happen, I can just enjoy the kewl music from the boringness of my home. That’s because Insomniac Radio will live stream EDC Las Vegas on the Dash radio site.
The broadcast starts tonight at 5 pm on “Night Owl Radio” hosted by one of the festival’s DJ’s, Alesso. You can hear the music in real time through the end of the festival early Monday morning.
