Christmas is only two weeks away. There are lots of FREE things to do to celebrate the holidays. Please be safe out there. This invisible thingy that can kill you is an invisible but present present. I need all the readers I can get! (Just kidding.)
Send a Letter to Santa

No one can sit on Santa’s lap this year, except Mrs. Claus. But that doesn’t mean Santa is working hard on those toys for you kids this year.
So how does he know what you want? Well, like always, you have to tell him! But this year you’ll have to write a letter. Not email or text. The old-fashioned way with pen and paper.
Las Vegas Kinder can then mail the letter (no stamp needed-save the 49 cents) to Santa at Santa’s Mailbox. It’s in front of Macy’s in Downtown Summerlin on Festival Plaza Drive.
Be sure to include your return address so Santa knows where to find you. And I hear through my secret sources Mr. Claus himself will also send you a special letter.
Here’s my favorite Christmas joke. Remember it’s from me, the Grouchy Grammarian:
Who are Santa’s elves? Subordinate clauses. Ha! Ha!
The Winter Wonderland Display at the Aria

If you are brave enough to head to a casino, don’t miss the Winter Wonderland at the Aria. Pastry Chef Mathieu Lavallee has created the centerpiece called Sugar Palace. It showcases seven types of sugar techniques.
For example, the structure is made of sugar bricks. The snowflakes are coated in crystal sugar. The swans came from blown sugar.
Back when there were culinary competitions, I attended a national pastry competition at the Rio. I watched the chefs work with the sugar. I actually cried when a couple of the creations toppled and smashed into thousands of sparkly diamonds when they were moving them from the work stations to the competition table. Working with sugar is tricky, almost treacherous. So this @%$#^ is amazing.
There’s also a 17-foot holiday tree decorated with 500 crystals.
The only thing you have to pay for is the parking. GRRR! But enjoying the Winter Wonderland is FREE.
FREE Starbucks

I don’t have to tell you about the COVID numbers because you know the frightening stats.
Starbucks says thank you to all those who are helping those who fall ill. (I do too.) Just identify yourself and the barista will give you a FREE tall brewed coffee, iced or hot.
The Starbucks Foundation has contributed $1 million to the cause.
