FREE Fun in Las Vegas: Four-Letter Friday

Many of you readers may be too young to remember the disco era. Personally, I can’t remember having more fun than dancing to disco music in clubs in the 1970s (except for screaming at Vegas Golden Knights games, but that came much later.)

Tomorrow Las Vegans of all ages can enjoy the spirit of disco at Downtown Container Park’s Silent Disco event. A company called Quiet Events has partnered with the Container Park to put on the largest silent party in Las Vegas.

She’s groovin’ to the green channel

Here’s how it works. You get a pair of glowing headphones. Then you select a color. DJ 1 (green) is playing top 40 dance hits. DJ 2 (red) is playing 80’s, 90’s and 2k throwbacks. DJ 3 (blue) is spinning hip hop/R&B. The headphones lit up the color of the DJ you are listening to.

Alas, no real disco music. But still a lot to groove to.

I love the silent part. You don’t have to talk over any live music. And there’s no ringing in your ears when you leave!

The DJs are live. It’s just like you are in a fancy club. Each one is battling for your attention. How fun is that?

The silent disco headphones are calling you!

Dance the day away, Las Vegas. Because the fun starts at noon and goes until four.

The dancing area is covered but it is outdoors.

The first 50 people get in FREE. After that the Silent Disco costs just $10. However, you do have to have a credit card which will see a charge of $100 if you make off with the special headphones. So don’t take ’em!

Downtown Container Park Las Vegas

Register online at the Downtown Container Park web site.

Saturday is also Small Business Saturday at the Container Park. This is definitely NOT free. The point is to do your Christmas shopping by supporting local small businesses.

The 30 participating businesses open up shop at 9 am and will take your money until 1 am.
