It’s hard to believe, but some of the best concert venues in Las Vegas are…at one of the Clark County libraries. The facilities are top-notch, the entertainment ah-mah-zing and usually unusual, and the best part: FREE!
Tonight head out to the West Charleston library to hear Jessica Fichot live in concert. Do you like French chanson? Shangai jazz? Gypsy swing? International folk? Well, she excels in all four.
She sings in French, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and English. Well, if you’ve seen a Cirque du Soleil show, they sing in gibberish. So you will feel at home if you don’t speak any of these tongues.
Fichot, who hails from Los Angeles, plays the accordion. Her band which includes a stand up bass, clarinet/sax, drummer and guitarist, provide the musical underpinnings to her original songs.
I did say the concert was FREE, right?

The show starts at 7:30.
The next item isn’t necessarily fun but it is sadly necessary. The Mob Museum downtown will host its monthly community safety forum Sunday from 2 to 3.
This month’s topic: active shooter preparedness.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department supplies the speakers.
The session is FREE. But here’s the best part: Afterwards, this FREE includes FREE admission to the museum.
