Is not the weather gorgeous in this Entertainment Capital of the World (or one of them)? Perfect weather for the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this week-end.
Tickets to this event cost $375. But my job, loyal readers, is to help you enjoy the Entertainment Capital of the World for FREE. See below to hear the music and see the images FREE.
P.S. If you are not into electronic dance music or Kenny G who will be there (both have their detractors), well there’s plenty of other things to do this week-end. Stay tuned!
The EDC Starts Tonight!

I wish I could stay up all night. Because EDC looks like the most fun thing to do on the planet. Multiple stages with the best electronic dance music anywhere. Jaw-dropping attractions to see.
And the people watching. OMG. Beats Caesars at midnight Saturday night! An estimated 450,000 people are expected to attend the three-day event.
This is a major event, because it marks the 25th anniversary of the Carnival. The Las Vegas version is 10 years old.
However, you can hear the music and see the sights. FREE.
Insomniac, which produces the festival, has created its own internet TV station, http://tv.insomniac.com. It will livestream all eight festival stages. Seventy-five cameras will catch the action starting at 5 pm tonight.
iHeartRadio has created EDC Radio for the event. Go to http://iheartradio.com/EDC. Plus the local iHeartRadio stations will be broadcasting many of the sets. Insomnia Radio is also broadcasting live sets.
You can also go to Roblax https://www.roblox.com/games/7665856814/Insomniac-World-Party to see and hear what’s going in in real time. This is a metaverse (what Facebook is becoming….) which allows users to watch three stages (Kinetic Field, Circuit Grounds and Cosmic Meadow) and interact with other Roblox users. Roblox starts at 4 pm today.
As you can imagine, TikTok is the preferred social medium for this demographic.
Yes, I am admitting this in public. I love electronic dance music….
Get Intellectual at the Las Vegas Book Festival

This is also an anniversary year for a more (ahem) intellectual gathering: The Las Vegas Book Festival. It’s year 20 for the largest literary event in Nevada. (Yes, Karen, people in Las Vegas can actually read.)
The Festival celebrates the written, spoken and illustrated word. And yes, it’s FREE.
The Festival is tomorrow. Things kick off at 9. Lebowitz speaks at 4.
One day I will be a speaker once my book, The RIPPA Method. How to Invest in Your Future When You Know NOTHING About Investing, takes off!
Up Up and Away at the Las Vegas Balloon Festival

I’ve always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon. Especially over the Las Vegas Strip.
Maybe I will this time. The Las Vegas Balloon Festival started yesterday and runs through Halloween.
The breath-taking balloon glow is at 9 pm each day. The festival starts at 2 but no one is allowed in after 7.
The Festival is FREE.
Everything happens at Craig Ranch Regional Park.
