Henderson is hip. While every city has entertainment enclaves, the second-largest city in Nevada has designated a specific industrial park the Booze District.
Here’s what’s really cool about the Booze District: There’s even something special for chocoholics! The Las Vegas Distillery is opening the Chocolate Makery in September. Chocolate lovers can pour tempered chocolate into the mold of their choosing and add any of up to 400 toppings to their own foot-long (or 21-inch-long!) chocolate bar. Visitors will have their choice of white-, milk- or dark-Belgian, organic or Madagascar chocolate.
Current inhabitants in the Booze District include:
- Bad Beat Brewery
- CraftHaus Brewing
- Grape Expectations
- Las Vegas Distillery, which produces Nevada’s first bourbon whiskey
- Vegas Brewing
All are artisanal manufacturers. Their lure: flights of locally brewed beer, distilled bourbon or private label wine. Walking tours are available.
The owners are planning festivals with food trucks and arts and crafts to add flavor to their spirits. Since the City of Las Vegas has First Friday, the planners are opting for Saturdays.
CraftHaus is hosting brewing classes in case you want to make your home a Booze District too.
Hoping to make your Vegas experience a little better!
