The smell of freshly cut pine trees. Jingle bells. The Nutcracker. All are quintessential elements of the holiday season.
Alas, a ticket to the Nevada Ballet Theater‘s performance of The Nutcracker at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts is spendy. The cheapest seat in the balcony, which is four stories up, costs $34. Up close and personal seats in the Orchestra section go for $184.
How would you like to see the Christmas ballet FREE?
Las Vegas’s Downtown Container Park presents the Pink Tutu Ballet company performing The Nutcracker tonight and tomorrow night at 7. The performance lasts one hour.
Parking can be challenging in downtown Las Vegas. The Container Park lot at 118 S. 7th Street charges $3 an hour. The Downtowner lot at 108 N. 8th Street has a $10 flat rate if you are going to stay downtown to eat, drink, dance or stare after the ballet. For the technologically advanced, reserve your parking spot with ParkMe, the official Las Vegas parking app.
Merry Christmas, Las Vegas. Next week I will have some FREE New Year’s Eve ideas.
