When do boxing and crooning intersect? Nowhere…except here in Las Vegas. And it’s happenin’ tonight! Boxing sportscasting superstar Al Bernstein is crooning tonight at the Tuscany Casino.
Bernstein joins Kenny Davidsen at Davidsen’s weekly Friday night Celebrity Piano Bar. Davidsen plays the piano and sings. He also has a five-piece band to back him. They accompanies anyone who drops by for the typically five-hour show. Lots of Strip performers love to jam with Kenny on Friday after their own curtain calls.

Tonight will be no different. In addition to Bernstein, expect some tunes from Davidsen’s mother Rita, who sings opera, and Bernstein’s son Wes.
Bernstein has a velvety tenor voice. He’s often belted out songs before big name fights, including the Buster Douglas-Evander Holyfield match and the Sugar Ray Leonard-Marvelous Marvin Hagler match up.

Even if you don’t watch boxing matches, you’ll probably recognize Bernstein. He was the fight commentator in Rocky V and played himself in Stuey.
The cabaret starts at 9 pm in the Piazza lounge; the band packs up around 2 am. Tonight, however, get there a bit early because Bernstein will be telling some of his boxing stories before the singing starts.

Bernstein is around for tomorrow’s Adrien Broner-Manny Pacquiao fight at the MGM Grand Garden.
I did say all this entertainment is FREE, right? Just another great reason I love living in Las Vegas!
