Ignoring the election distraction, is the best of times and the worst of times here in Las Vegas. (Thanks Charles Dickens.) For the first time, all the Las Vegas Strip casinos are open! And many of the most popular shows are back! Yet, our Covid count is still topping 1,000 per day…
That said, here are some kewl things to do in Las Vegas this week. FREE.
FREE Coffee and Pastries

Now that the temperature has gone from 83 (August) to 59 (November), how about some hot coffee?
Dunkin’ Donuts is pouring FREE coffee every Wednesday through December 23.
Here’s how to get one:
You have to join the DD Perks Rewards Program. That’s FREE too. Just download the Dunkin’ app to join. Oh, and the app can be an easy way to order and pay with no contact, another perk. (pun intended.)
You can order your coffee hot or cold.
McDonald’s is getting into the act too. It has just introduced new pastries. They are classics: a blueberry muffin, apple fritter and the iconic cinnamon roll.
If you purchase a cup of coffee (hot or cold), you can get one of these FREE. You can do this once a day.
The promotion ends Tuesday November 9.
Jammin’ 4 Hope

One of my favorite local charities is HopeLink of Southern Nevada. The group is instrumental in helping with housing which is why I am a big supporter.
Now the charity is taking on the local entertainment industry, which has been idle since March. It has put together a livestream concert and telethon. The show is this Sunday at 3.
The Clark County Fire Department brought a hook and ladder truck. Aerialists will do their thing attached to the truck. The parking lot has some unusual items serving as stages.
The show will happen live at Backstage Bar & Billiards and The Fremont Country Club, although you have to watch it at https://www.facebook.com/backstagebarlv/live_videos .
About 70 entertainers are participating. Here are some of my favorites:
- Matt Goss
- Wayna Morris from Boyz II Men
- Louie Anderson
- Human Nature
- Zowie Bowie
- Joey Fatone
- The Australian Bee Gees
- Sante Fe an& Fat City Horns
- Jennifer Romas and her crew from Sexxy
Pawn Stars star Rick Harrison is one of the hosts.
You can watch for FREE but the whole point is to raise money to help these people who work tirelessly to make Las Vegas Las Vegas. There are some kewl silent auction items too.
Next week is Veterans Day. THANK YOU for your service. Dunkin’ is giving a FREE donut to every veteran. Station Casinos always delivered a free buffet to our veterans but alas there are no buffets this year.
Have a great week-end, Las Vegas.
