Piazzo Lounge at Tuscany Suites & Casino
For years bandleader Kenny Davidsen has hosted his Celebrity Piano Bar every Friday night. The pianist invites local celebrities to sing each week; he leads a live band to back ’em up.
What’s fun is you NEVER know who is gonna show up. It’s unscripted entertainment at its Las Vegas finest.
Tonight, however, Lorena Peril is the guest host.
Peril’s “night” job is the lead singer at Fantasy, the topless show at the Luxor. If you’ve never been to one of these, they always have a lead singer and a comedian to spice up the topless acts.
Peril has an enviable voice; she can sing anything. She’s done duets with rocker Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Barbra Streisand. She played Sandy in the touring company of Grease. In 2007 she was Barry Manilow‘s opening act for his “Music and Passion” Arena Tour.
She knows how to MC an event. She was the MC for Sylvester Stallone’s 60th birthday bash. So it should be a great show tonight.
Everything happens in the Piazza Lounge. The singing starts at 8:45 and well, goes into tomorrow.
There is no cover. But a face mask might be kind.
Piano Bar at Harrah’s
The Piano Bar at Harrah’s is open. That means Pete Vallee, AKA Big Elvis is back!
In a town with dozens of Elvii, Big Elvis is one of the best known. (Pre-pandemic, you could go to the supermarket and there would be three Elvii in full costume checking out before you. Only in Las Vegas. But I digress.)
Big Elvis croons all the classics sung to tracks. So that’s probably why he is one of the first performers to return to the live stage.
There are three shows tomorrow afternoon: at 2, 3:30 and 5.
P.S He plans to enter and exit with an Elvis Presley face mask. I want one!
