Las Vegas is back! Well, kind of. The big showrooms are still closed. The cowboys aren’t coming. Cirque du Soleil and the Smith Center still have empty theaters. But small venues are back. Patience, everyone. We WILL get through this.
Want a FREE rainbow bagel?
Pride week is typically in June. However, June is swelteringly hot in Las Vegas. So we celebrate Pride week in October.
This year there will be no IRL celebrations. But that didn’t stop chef Sonia El-Nawal at Rooster Boy Cafe. She’s boiling rainbow bagels. She makes them fresh and tops them with cream cheese with sprinkles.
They are available Saturday from 8 am -3 pm. But the first 15 people to appear at the cafe get a bagel FREE.
Equality Nevada’s FREE Pride event
Equality Nevada, a non-profit advocacy organization, is holding an outdoor festival Sunday afternoon to celebrate all human beings. There will be food trucks, street vendors and a silent auction.
The event will be held in its parking lot on west Sunset Road in Henderson. From 12-5 pm. Admission is FREE.
The drive-in movie series continues
The drive-in movie series continues Friday night with “Wonder Park.” The movie is about a young girl named June who discovers the amusement park of her dreams comes to life. Her favorite animals run those crazy rides.
Tonight’s installment is at the Parkdale Recreation Center parking lot.
Remember the rules: Admission is FREE. Parking is every other space. Everyone has to stay in their car. You can bring chairs but they have to stay in the space.
The parking lot opens at 6. The movie starts at 7:45. Bring your popcorn!
Thank you, Clark County Parks and Recreation and TruVisionCinema.com for making this happen for us. My tax dollars are work!
Have a safe and healthy week-end, Las Vegas.
