FREE Fun in Las Vegas: 4-Letter Friday

It’s Hallo-week-end. Las Vegas goes crazy for Halloween. All the pricey clubs on the Las Vegas Strip have famous DJs like Diplo and Tiesto hosting. (Yes, the prices are scary.)

But it’s my job, dear readers, to find FREE things to do.

This week-end it’s not hard! Boo!

Make Money (maybe) and Party at the Gold Spike (Downtown)

The Gold Spike is giving away $9,000 in cash and prizes this Halloween week-end

Want to have fun and (maybe) make bank this Hallo-week-end? Then head downtown to the Gold Spike. The downtown casino is offering $9,000 in cash and prizes this week-end.

Tonight is Fright Spike. The headline event is Zombie Rave, A Night to Dismember. Winners of the annual all-styles dance contest will take home $2,000 in cash and prizes.

The contest is at 1 am. Until then you can dance to a DJ A-ron in the Living Room (inside) and DJ Exodus in the Backyard (outside).

Tomorrow night is Spike Game. In the Las Vegas version, costumed participants can win over $3,000 in cash and prizes and not get shot by a sniper if you lose! (You know this had to happen….)

By the way, I agree with Lebron James and thought Gi-Hun should have gotten on that plane to see his daughter. He could have still saved the day in season 2. But I digress.

On Sunday night Gold Spike is hosting its Halloween party. The costume contest has three categories:

  • Best overall
  • Sexiest female (this is Las Vegas, so watch out!)
  • Best couple

This contest is at 10 pm. Until them you can enjoy Latin sounds in the Living Room by DJs DeleO and Teen Wolf.

How about A Costume Contest for Your Dog? (Las Vegas)

Big Dog’s Brewing Company is having its Dogtoberfest celebration tomorrow night.

This annual event combines the German beerfest tradition (even though Octoberfest is actually in September in Germany with the charm of an old Wisconsin brat cook out.
You can taste 50 brews from around the world and eat ah-maz-ing bratwurst, but that costs money. The weather is gorgeous. What could be more delicious?

A ticket book with 10 tickets costs $30.

What is FREE is the live music and the canine costume competition.

Big Dog’s partnered with The Animal Foundation to host the contest. And the restaurant is donating $1 from every Festival package purchased to the animal adoption center.

In the past, the elaborate costumes on these dogs make the event sooo much fun.

Zonya de la Guardia performs from 5-7. Thereafter Kelly & The Strays take over and sing until 10.

All happenin’ at the Big Dog’s at Craig and Decatur.

Trick or Treat at the Kewlest Block Party in Vegas (South)

Baltinglass and Corona Run is the spot!

Put on your costume, gather the gang and head out to Baltinglass and Corona Run in Las Vegas. The head of engineering at MGM Resorts LOVES Halloween and has spent years putting together an elaborate set up in his front yard and garage.

It’s better than the department store windows at Christmas of my childhood.

His neighbors try to match. It’s visual overload after dark. You gotta see it!

The street is packed with people partying and taking it all in. Join ’em.

Other Things To Do IF You Want to Spend Money:

  • Sting starts his residency
  • Phish is here
  • The NHRA is firing up for its world championship

Have a great week-end, Las Vegas.
