Spend Christmas Eve on the Colorado River

Beth Ellyn Rosenthal, eXp Realty

The great thing about Christmas in Las Vegas is there is no snow! And it’s really warm enough to be on the Colorado River.

So why not take a smooth-river raft trip through Black Canyon, the natural gorge of the Colorado River below the Hoover Dam? The rafts have motors, so you don’t even have to paddle!!!!

The guides share the history of the building of the dam and describe the desert wildlife. And there’s no other way to enjoy this otherwise inaccessible and rugged landscape than by boat.

The trip can be spendy if you are tapped out by your Christmas present purchases. Adult passage is $92 and teenagers are $87. At least kids under 5 are free. Of course you can wait until spring when it’s warmer!

Motoring on the Colorado is a great way to get ready for the Christmas craziness in Las Vegas.

Black Canyon Adventures offers these tours. The rafters gather at 9:15 am in the lobby of the Hacienda Hotel and Casino in Boulder City.
